How surprising first response coming from a guy...lol

Koronto, the exact word might not be there, but they pretty much feel the same. I noticed how depressed Somali women can become when they reach that age.

You'd think ..hey you popped 10+ kids ma dhal kale ayaa ku hadhay?

I usually click "view new posts" and that's how I found your thread.

I usually wonder about stuff and do remember once before wondering if there was a word for menopause in Somali. There probably is a word for it, considering the fact that Somali is not a new language, its been around for a while. But, because most of us don't posess enough Somali vocab, we are easily dismissive and lazily claim that Somali doesn't have enough vocab to cover everything, which is false. I remember studying science and math in middle school, in Somali and we had a word for every imaginable academic word as well as scientific words. They may not all be known to us or words we use on a daily basis, but they existed and still exist - on books. And if we don't have a word for it in Somali, then we ought to, considering our people's near obsession with the female reproductive system and fertility/lack thereof.

How long do you think it'll be before Somalis in the West limit the number of children they have or at least delay it until they can provide for them out of what they earn & not what hand-outs these governments provide?

what about the english one, men-paused?

meaning no more "dagaal sokeeye in the qolka".

both sound depressing.
