Let me guess, you want Turkey's Prime Minister to fly into Garoowe and visit these camps. Then expect him to announce a Grant in the hundreds of millions of dollars to spent on the infrastructure of Garoowe iyo wixi ka sii hadhay Puntland?

Sxb...Mogadishu ba kaga horeesay waxas. Come up with a new game plan.

Families fight for survival in ‘forgotten corner’ of drought crisis

World Vision is scaling up its work in north Somalia as thousands flee from drought in the surrounding areas.

A state of famine has been declared in a sixth of the country and the UN warns that 750,000 people could die as the crisis deepens.

Staff from World Vision are aiming to help 2.5 million people across the drought-affected region including Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia.

Work in Somalia includes mobile health facilities to treat severely malnourished children, vaccinations, tent distribution, water conservation projects and household kits with mosquito nets, cooking pots and toiletries.

"Harrowing scenes"

Speaking from Puntland in northern Somalia, World Vision UK’s Chief Executive Justin Byworth said: “As states of famine and emergency are declared in surrounding areas, families are pouring here into the north-east corner of the country to escape violence and hunger.

“There are harrowing scenes. I’ve just met a six-year-old boy who survived being shot in the head and scores of severely malnourished children.

“We’re working flat out with the resources we have but there’s not a drop of water around here and the situation’s desperate.

"We cannot afford to let this become a forgotten corner of the crisis.”

Famine

Figures from the UN show four million people are in crisis in Somalia, with 750,000 at risk of death in the next four months in the absence of adequate response. Half of those who have already died are children.

Bay in Southern Somalia is the latest region to be officially declared a famine zone.

World Vision’s work also continues in Kenya and Ethiopia including emergency water supplies, food distribution, nutrition work and medical supplies.

Dear Inemansquad, how are you doing mate? I recall the golden age of somalinet when you were a kid. To be honest, you were always decent and introduced trivial threads. Your threads contained no controversies.

How times change?

My friend, the two of us appear to have a different approach to what constitutes puntland; in my case, puntland is somalia (an old name) while in your case it appears to be based on the notion of lalaland i.e tribal dreamland. In the context of this thread. it is laughable how one can give asylum to other somalis

If my memory serves me well, your dad is from hawd; Buhoodle; the seat of noble somali people. You were born in Muqdisho- the cradle of somali civilisation and have some family members in Las caanod.

I wonder why you suddenly sheerlead for lalaland? Have you been seduced by all other somalis are our enemies syndrome? Have you been fed the cum of "we have been chased from the south and up north we have the plague"?

Globetrotter, so you are the same cat; good that you kept your name unlike so many here

Sxb, i still don't do controversies; i don't do threads at all, i think this one about the Sayid discussion is the only thread i've done in this year all together. This place went down hill so bad for a long time (years) I didn't even feel the need to contribute or visit.

Your accurate about my background and family but no so accurate in regards to me being for lalaland, assume you mean Puntland; I don't have a approving attitude towards any of these lands, quite the contrary really

Puntlands (individuals of the Majeerteen clan) claim it to be theirs just like other Somalis tribes claim parts of Somalia so i only assumed you were of the same conviction since i recall you being Majeerten yourself
