Why is the Minister so afraid to come in front of the Somaliland Parlement and Guurti?

They even called in runaway Minister, cause he always runsaway from meetings with the Foreign Affairs committee.

I dont dislike him sxb. In fact I support the current Foreign policy of Somaliland.

But there are some in Somaliland's Parlement and Guurti who critize him and his policy. They say he is breaking with Somaliland's Law's by participating in int meetings with Somalia or where the issue's of Somalia are discussed. And they are calling him to Parlement and discuss his policy with them.

To give you an example of these critique. The Minister has not said a word on the somaliland.org article about TFG and other local Somalia Statte's being there and meeting them. In fact the whole meeting was with Somalia and its stakeholders.

Well there was a rumour last time and the citizens basically said 'we will kill you with our bare hands' and to Siilaanyo that ''we will break into your office and take you down Egypt-style'' I swear.

There is nothing to worry about when the citizenship is keeping a close eye on their government.

But I believe, that the int.. community is more interested in dealing with Somaliland Security-wise whereas we want them to deal with us more on politics and widen the narrow doorway to recognition if not receive recognition itself. I believe this government is taking any offer the int comm. gives as long as it engages with Somaliland/Government, which in the long-run may be bad.

I have my sources. And its not the first time Somaliland participates in a Somalia stakeholders meeting. This meeting was a follow up of the meeting in Nairobi with the Security Council, where Somaliland participated as one of the Somali states having a stake in Somalia.

But the Minister explains it to the Somaliland public as if these meetings are only between Somaliland and International community.

Why doesnt he just tell the truth abou it and explains how this will benefit Somaliland.

Its not a rumour. Its a fact.

Check the article from the goverment website somaliland.org purblished today, after the meeting ended and other websites started writing about it.

Not a single word about the official agenda and purbose of the meeting. He is not even mentioning that TFG, Puntland, Galmudug, Ahlu Suna were also there with him. And they were there as a Somalia Stakeholders/states delegation. He is only mentioning some of the official goverment vieuws regarding Somaliland's indepedance, not being negoinable, etc.

I think its good that Somaliland new foreign policy is build on defending and guarding its own interest everywhere and not build on emotions.

It shows how mature we have become as a nation. That we can have a foreign policy build on interest and not emotions/history

I wish the goverment could come out and make their policy public. So we can have a healthy debate on how to guard our political and economic interest. But I think they are still somehow afraid of certain reactions of people and allegations that they are giving up Somaliland's souveraighty. But they should ignore those whiners.
