In 1998, Dhulbahante made a mistake in uniting with SSDF. It's a fact that we have to recoup from. Our eagerness to unite for the sake of brotherhood and Tolnimo, against our common enemies, made us oversee the political, social and tribalistic ambitions the Majeerteen harbored secretly. The SSDF's main objective was to undermine the legitimacy and existence of Dhulbahante, Leelkase, Warsangeli and Awrtaable, and use their resources and area under the pretext of "Statehood" ama "Tolnimo". Had we known, what we were getting ourselves into, we would've not made the choices we made back in 1998.
In 2003, it was that chubby boy Caares, the Cumar Maxamed Colonel, who shook hands with Nux Tani of the SNM and explicitly, without rephrasing his words said, "Why should our men (SNM-SSDF) die for this barren land and this useless mountains". Those mountains he was speaking of was Laascaanood. It was 2003, that the SSDF showed their true colors, but we the Dhulbahante didn't take heed and looked beyond that, keeping our eyes on that ever-so-existing "Brotherhood" that we promised to upheld.
In 2005, Abdullahi Yusuf simply signed Laascaanood to SNM, when he took the entire 10,000 or so soldiers in Sool, Nugaal area that were "defending" Laascaanood from the SNM. Make note of it, Puntland never controlled North of Laascaanood. Yagoori, Gumaays, and Ceerigaabo were never under Puntland control for reason that are obvious. It wasn't their interest. Dhulbahante never contested in liberating those areas, simply because the Administration or State that represented them was responsible for liberating. We thought, Abdullahi Yusuf, Cade Muse and the so-called Puntland Administration were creating plans in liberating Ceerigaabo, Yagoori, Gumaays ila Caynabo. Unfortunately, the SSDF were creating plans that were exactly opposite of that.
Whining and Complaining won't change shit. What happened in the past, is long gone. It's the future that we're depending on now.
You mentioned that Dhulbahante lost more land than anyone. The reason we lost more land more than any clan was due to defending the Somali peninsula, the Deen and the culture. We sacrificed 2/3 of our population, property and land for the SOMALI people, people like your clan and the rest of the Somali clans, so that British or Gaalo don't come in and go without anyone's permission and so that British or Gaalo don't construct Churches and Christian boarding schools to teach the young Somalis about Christianity. That's the reason we lost more land than any Somali clan in the history of the Somali civilization.
You mentioned about Dhulbahante being foot-soldiers. I guess, you've already forgot about the help we gave it to you in 1991, when we were liberating Galkaacyo from the USC, along with help of Mareexaan, lead by Col. Cabdicasiis and the Leelkase. You didn't call us Foot-Soldiers then. You were glad to see us come under the banner of DAAROODNIMO. You didn't call us foot-soldiers when we help you fight against the USC in Kismaayo and Jubooyinka. Yet, here you are, claiming that Puntland consists of SSC, Mudug, Bari and Nugal. Claiming that Dhulbahante is part of Puntland, yet throwing such a pathetic slurs around like the "Damu-eer" you are.
Thirdly, the reason Dhulbahante demonstrated was to let the International Community know that the SNM is being aided by the British. We were not demonstrating against SNM per-se, but rather, it's financial help, which it has been receiving from Britain since 1840's. Furthermore, I guess, it hurts you see that Dhulbahante has waken up and realized that...to defeat SNM is to stop the British Aid is has been receiving all this years.
Next time you try to insult Dhulbahante, recognize that without Dhulbahante, there wouldn't have been a state called "Puntland". Don't think Faroole will stop Dhulbahante from snatchin' your ass and roast you for an ALLIBAREY under a Tree.
Today, I couldn't be more happier than ever (So far), knowing that Dhulbahante has come to realization, a realization that no one will fight for their interest. They have to determine their fate. Today, Dhulbahante is on the verge of creating it's own State within Somalia, free from SSDF and SNM influence. Today, self-determination is a step away.
