What's the point of attending segregated weddings? I go to weddings to see pretty things in revealing outfits.

Qoraxeey, in my neck of the woods, most weddings are mixed, so I go and enjoy myself, with good food, nice music, and a bit niiko, as long as my eedoyaal aren't there, otherwise, I'd be in alot of trouble
Personally I find wadaado aroose boring, you just have to stand around like an idiot with nothing to do, it all depends on the individual.

niiko is a bantu dance which southern somalis adopted and more recently adopted by many northern somalis. It is a dance in which women shake their but and have a scarf tightly wrapped around their buttocks area to make that part more relative than the rest of the body. Men are only looking at the womens but having sensual thoughts. I will not say it is haram or halal because like other internet sheiks I am not someone who knows the quran by heart and studied tafsir in arabic. But I can say that niiko in mixed weddings is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. Even the groom gets horny looking at other women shake their ass.

I used to crash mixed weddings with my friends a lot when I was in my late teens and around 20 to have cheap fun.
But now I only attend my family weddings, which are mostly wadaad weddings. When I marry, I want it to be as simple and segregated as possible, bariis, hilib & wadaad for us men in the afternoon and saashaar for the ladies in the evening. Honeymoon = Umrah to the holy cities. And I expect lots of gifts in the form of money and furniture from friends and family.
