Staying awake in lectures

Post by anonymousfaarax »

I have a real problem and need help :x

No matter what i do i end up falling asleep in lectures so I need a way to stay awake. im going to take cofee into lectures to see if it works but since caffeine has no effect on me i doubt it.

First your eyelids seem to be getting heavier by the minute, your breathing is getting shallower then your eyes shut even as you fight to keep them open. Then you’re momentarily jolted back into semi-consciousness as you snap your head back upright after it had fallen forward onto your chest or back until you were looking at the ceiling.
I have browsed the net and suggestions are:

- sleep more 9.5h (too much)
- take water into lecture (may work)
- tickle the roof of your mouth with your tongue

any suggestions.

lie to your brain by convincing it you had enough sleep.

once the brain buys that notion, lie to it 2nd time by
pretending you already know the lecture by heart and
you woulb be able to go home before class is over and
take the long nap you badly need.

if you tack a rubber band and hang it and around your wrist(the tighter the better) and pull it back towards you a good distants then release is hard do that a few times in a row and you should be good for a bit.
I might do this :|

If my suggestion above doesn't work
stand from your sitting possition and
spin with your eyes closed, once you feel
dizzy run aimlessly as fast as you can while
still having your eyes shut. eventually your body
will come to a painful stop by either falling face first
or collidind with the wall. either ways, both scenarios
will have the same effect.

ps, medics should be on standby.

Could depend on the quality of the lecturers; a good prof will captivate his students.

My suggestion;

1. Sit in the front part of the class and keep eye kontakt with the prof (specially if he/she is the opposite gender)
2. Take notes
3. Ask questions

very true it depends on the lecturer how he/she captives the students otherwise you lose interest and fall asleep

No shortcut, abti. Get enough sleep as it's good for your memory (since you're a student) as well as your overall health.

PS: I've also got less sleep issues (mainly staying up very late, not health-related) & the nights I get adequate sleep I can feel its positive effect in my performance & energy during the day.

I suggest you to have massage on the neck because you must have big head and small neck...

This reminds me, one time I fell asleep in class, can't remember which class it was now, I was snoring with dhareer and everything, the teacher came to my desk and asked me if I needed a pillow, it was embarrassing the say the least. It really depends on the lecture, some are so boring you can't help but fall asleep.
