Somalia was an italian colony and Somaliland was a British protectorate both joined in unity to form the Somali Republic, it was never called Somalia during the 1960-1991 period, if the SNM called it Somalia its because we refer the south to Somalia,why would SNM saythe Somali Republic, including the Somaliland territories?,it makes sense that they said Somalia because the attacks were launched by the former Italian colony INTO the former british protectorate Somaliland during the late 1980's, therefore it was called the Somali Republic, Somalia nor Somaliland existed in those periods.
