Ghaddafi was a lunatic, tried the change the Qur'an, his government kidnapped and killed any dissidents, and he was a political cold sore. But dude held up for his people when it came to the majority. I wonder what will happen now. Personally speaking, I'm not sure I would want to live under Ghaddafi, but the plausible alternative is strikingly less appealing.

Ghaddafi was also fervently against any government corruption to the point of wanting to disband the nationalized oil revenues and distribute profits to all Libyan citizens with bank accounts.

I am not sure about the whole list but I heard about some of them before. This change will have its ups and downs, not question about that.

PS: When I was in Iraq back in 02 and early 03 before the war, the price of petrol was cheaper than water & I couldn't believe when I read from the news sites that some Iraqi cities & parts of Baghdad had power outages.

Though their number (The Libyans) is small and the nation is very wealthy if they don't take arms against one another they can live like kings but as anything backed by the West proved disastrous in the past, only time will tell.
