Silly move!!! Strategic blunder. The TFG and AMISON will lose the gains they made if they stretched their sphere of control. A better strategy will be to consolidate their grip on Xamar and create an all inclusive xamar based goverment which has to show results that could be benchmarked (no corruption, no rapes, no murders and the rule of law). Shongole is trying to appease the Jowharians. Shabab never ever were concerned about public opinion or sentiment. There already has been a low level insurgency against AS in the Jowhar area.

Shongole should flee to Baari while he can.

I don't think so, we need to gain as much ground possible before we end up losing this window of opportunity. Al-shabaab is done so instead of some new org being allowed to walk in and take over. It is much wiser if we move in to fill in that security gap.
The vast majority of people would be willing to embrace us because they really do hate Al-shabaab and Al-shabaab no longer has any strong support from the local communities. So we really need to move in at every opportunity.

That will be futile. The only thing that can defeat this plague that has befallen our country and people is JUSTICE! When the TFG or hopefully the Banadir adminstration succeeds in creating an infrastructure that safeguards the rights of individuals, that is viewed as fair then the al-sheydhaan strongholds will fall one by one. As things are, in many people's mind the only alternative to al-shabab is corrupt, nepotic and tribalistic institutions. That is what they feed on.

P.s Shongole is not from Bari.

Galia, Al shabaab will be done once there is a benchmark in other regions; They thrive on foreign intervention, corruptions, and the lack of rule of law.

I agree with lamgoodle's 1st post. Mogadishu is far from liberated and needs a lot of work before any venturing out.
