Caught short: Mayor of March Bernard Keane was left red-faced after being reprimanded for urinating in bushes
Three senior councillors - including a town mayor - urinated in a hedge after being caught short on an official fact-finding tour, it has emerged.
The red-faced officials were reprimanded in front of colleagues after a complaint made against them was discussed in a private meeting.
The councillors, members of Fenland District Council Planning Committee in Cambridgeshire, were on a coach trip around towns and villages to look at sites which were the subject of planning applications.
First off the bus to find a hedge was Councillor Bernard Keane, the octogenarian Mayor of March, when they stopped near Wisbech.
Half an hour later, as the coach pulled into another site, the veteran Tory set off again to attend the call of nature but this time was joined by two others.
Planning committee member Jan French was on board the bus but refused to discuss the incidents.

Cllr French said: 'How did you find out about this? You're blowing it all out of proportion.'
In future the coach will be routed so that stops can be made.
Ironically Fenland Council is set to shut seven of the 11 public toilets in the four market towns.
Another councillor, who asked not to be named, said they should have asked the driver to stop at public loos.

The anonymous councillor said: 'If you were an applicant and saw a councillor up against a tree what would you think?
'Urinating in a public place is simply not on - and particularly as the council often has a number of young female planning officials on board the bus.'
Council leader Alan Melton refused to comment today.
The council's official spokesman said he also had no comment.

It is good for the environment; it is part of the fertilization process that trees and forest require. The problem is when many people throw their xaar and kaadi at the small place. That really screws the smell of the environment.
You still have xaar walwaals (dang beatles) who are going to come and do their garbage collections. Nature has its own way of cleaning and restoring itself.
If the other carnivores can unirate on the environment, why can't we--humans--do the same thing? I never like PC. Throw it where you like it provided it is far away from populated areas.
This people eat pork--the only animal that is known to eat its shit--and they are complaining about people urinating in the forest. That is hypocrisy.
