Recently a somali sheik has been detained in Egypt for reasons unknown to this day. I used to attend the Islamic classes of this sheik for a while. His what some Somalis would call a salafi jadiid. He was against taking up arms against abdulahi yusuf and the ethiopian army because in his opinion abdulahi yusuf was a Muslim and the somali people had no power or authority and leadership to fight against Ethiopia. He was stern opponent of shabab and sheiks that share their views.

Here is the thing though, to a secular somali his no different because of his appearance, the short qamis and beard must mean his up to something. It doesn't matter that shabab would probably kill him in Somalia.

That is the rumors but for now their just rumors. Is sad to see some muslims making kufr statements calling hijab a tent or making fun of the sunah just to prove themselves. Be against shabab or taliban if you want but don't lose your deen in the process. Some people actually get annoyed by seeing a covered up sister.

I'm not a fan of those type of sheikhs, they expect the people to take it in from behind and not utter a single word. I'd love to see if their opinion changes if the invaders would run into their house and do as they wish to their daughters...within a day or two they'll be screaming "HOLY WAR HOLY WAR!!!!!!!!!!! THE HABASH MUST BE FOUGHT BY EVERY SINGLE SOUL MALE OR FEMALE!!!".
