I didn't watch it that much when I posted it, apart from the first part where the ambassador speaks, and it turns out to be kinda dialogue rather than debate.

Hadal badan haan ma buuxsho, meel hoo u baahan hadal wax kama taro, I personally find this debate or discussion or dialogue whatever you call to be total useless and unhelpfull, we all know that somalia has 2 major issues. 1. Qabiil 2. Foreign intervention, now both gentlemen failed to explain how to bring somali people together and how to eliminate foreign interference.

Mogul,
I fail to understand why so called professors engage in somali clan politics; they should be teaching and encourage education.
Ma anaan fahmi kan lagu sheegay safiirka wuxuu ka hadlaayo.
In my humble opinion, the major problem of somali(a) is institutionalised tribalism and poverty. You can create a nation on a sick powering sharing scheme meant to cement the cancer of the century; 4,5 .

Professor Samatar spoke very well and gave very informative presentation about somalia situation and an approach to solution. very excellent.
i don't see him on this video talking about clans! however, clan politics is an indivisible part of Somali politics, and him as a scholar and professor in International relationships will certainly engage in such dialogues. i don't think there is any Somali who understands Somali politics better than him today.Lamgoodle wrote:Mogul,

Mondey, seedi, isdeji.
I was being general. You will find a so called somali aqoonyahan dancing to the beats of tribalism.
Understanding somali politics does not demand rocket scientists; it is clan politics (read corruption, conflict entrepreneurship and other kind of institutions) and has its tail in poverty and history.
A professor of international relations (which is actually political science) cannot cure the disease that has engulfed our nation.
I know Prof Samatar very well and he comes across as a good academic but he should propose solutions of how to mend somalia
