Ottawa police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for an Edmonton man charged with second-degree murder in the 2008 death of an Ottawa man.

Police said Mohamed Jama Yusuf, 23, was charged after the August 2008 death of 51-year-old Sean Gregory Murphy.

Yusuf was granted bail in 2009 and released under a number of conditions, including that he must reside with his mother in Edmonton.

He was set to stand trial in Superior Court but did not appear at an Ottawa court last month, police said.

Ottawa police said Yusuf's last known address was in Edmonton and warned the public they should not approach him if they see him, but instead call 911.
