innocent? Smeagol murdered his friend before the ring even had a chance to REALLY change him, smeagols actions are what created gollum!

Smeagol was scum, just cuz he's a good person in comparison to gollum doesn't say much. Sauron himself is a good time in comparison to gollum

smeagol may have tried to fight gollum near the end but he still created him. You're right though maskiin waye, ESP in ROTK
