Talib Shareef, the imam at Masjid Muhammad in the District, has talked with Joshua about his family’s reaction to his conversion. “A lot of Muslims go through it,” he said. “I’ve seen converts to Islam who have had detrimental lifestyles — on drugs, they partied all the time, they only looked to drink,” but they converted and cleaned up and their families still couldn’t accept them. “It’s a contradiction.”

That is pretty common in every religion. Hopefully, he is an adult and he should be willing to live with the consequences of his actions. However if he is a child, it might be a bit tricky. Wat i hate is when people start killing others because they have converted.

This Somali family in my city...took an African American girl into their home because she converted s d her family turned their backs...she is very pretty with her hijab and could easily pass for a Somali actually
