Sheikh Mohammad Haji Yusuf inspires war against Kenya.

For those of you who don't now Sheikh Mohammad Haji Yusuf was the former spiritual and commanding leader of Al Itihad Al Islami in the 90's. His protege are men like Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys and Sheikh Hassan Turki.



Since then he had been living in the Khaleej. When Al Shabaab routed Ethiopian forces, Saudi Arabia sent Sheikh Mohammad Haji Yusuf to go see what Al Shabaab is about. He came back saying I don't understand these kids. Now for the first time since Al Itihad's defeat, Sheikh Mohammad Haji Yusuf has brought out a fatwa inspiring war against both Kenya and Ethiopia interference in Somalia. While he is eminent and his opinion carries weight to all Islamists in Somalia, there is no doubt he is trying to inspire war in his own community.

Yeah he lives in Qatar now and I don't now what his position. I know he disagrees with Al Shabaab and he didn't seem to include AMISOM with the inspiration of war against Kenya/Ethiopia.

I remember I posted this guy in gedo section, and voltage was lamenting me about how he doesn't support al shabab, well I knew he would come on board and declare struggle against the kenyans.

The shaykh didn't have a post on national level of al-itixad. He came into the picture after the three original Al-itixad leaders (ali warsame, xassan daahir and abdulqadir gacamey) seperated.

Ali warsame was the political leader
Xassan Dahir was head of the military wing
Abdulqaadir Gacamey was head of the islamic affairs.
