Fighting Ethiopia and Kenya does not make sense.

Post by abgaalKING »

KENYA has invaded a country to stamp out terrorism but has found itself trapped. Casualties have risen, domestic pressures back home are multiplying and elections have to be won. The Kenyans invaded Somalia last month, so the consequences will take some time to emerge. Al-Shabaab militants have been raiding the neighbouring country, kidnapping and killing. Now three governments — those of Kenya, Uganda and the Somalia rump state headed by President Sheikh Sharif Ahmad — have joined hands to crush Al Shabaab, with Kenyan Foreign Minister Moses Wetangula calling it a “historic opportunity to restore stability and security” in Somalia

Al Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab is indifferent to human suffering. It believes in imposing its own version of religion by force, eliminates those who oppose its skewed sense of jihad and makes no bones about it. Last year a double suicide attack killed 76 people in Kampala, Uganda, and last month in a suicide truck bombing it killed 70 of its own people in Mogadishu. The invasion by thousands of Kenyans has prompted the al-Shabaab leadership to warn of greater reprisals against Kenya. Asking his followers to stop such small-scale attacks as throwing grenades on buses an al-Shabaab commander told his guerilla force “we want huge blasts”.

Kenya`s dilemma is obvious: it feels it cannot withdraw without achieving its aim of destroying al-Shabaab. But the presence of thousands of Kenyan soldiers only serves to help al-Shabaab, which will say it is fighting an invading force and will most probably win support even from the neutrals. Al-Shabaab fighters were trained by Osama bin Laden`s men, and are unlikely to give Kenya and Uganda — the latter has thousands of peacekeepers in Somalia — a victory. Kenya and others have no choice but to find a negotiated settlement. President Ahmad writ doesn`t run beyond Mogadishu. As experience in Afghanistan shows, the Islamist guerillas are unlikely to agree to a ceasefire, except on their own terms. Unless something dramatic happens, the people of a potentially rich country like Somalia seem condemned to unending suffering in a brutal war the majority never wanted

Somalias a big mess man. Eithiopians, Burundians, Ugandans, Kenyans, friggin 4th world starvin marvin countries come in and run amock. Then You got the crazy, unwanted criminals from places like tanzania, afghanistan, yemen, etc. who are able to come into somalia with no mandate and do what they please. Definitely a severe lowpoint in the history of the once proud Somali.

Sometimes it takes many countries to get the job done. they are trying to destroy the somali Roots, its not easy to try to Balkanise a country who has one religion, one language and one ethnicity... This is the Era of breaking up Nationalistic feelings in Africa, Al shabaab, Tfg all this organisations is made up by the west through Ethiopia to have an excuse to ruin the somali Patrioism. Unfortuantely its working as its sad to see somali welcoming kenyans and habesh to kill Fellow somali. May allah be on the somali side inshallah.

I think you need to stop seeing everything through the eyes of Isaias Aferweki. Do you want to blame Ethiopia and Kenya for the 91 civil war and the subsequent balkanization of Somalia? You say that the TFG is a creation of Ethiopia when you know very well that the the TFG had its first sitting was in Kenya? The process that led to the Sudan CPA was the same that led to the formation of the TFG. Please, you don't have to put Ethipia everywhere in the Somalia blame game.

The biggest culprit in all these is Somalia. Somalia is not the only country that has faced internal strife. However, it has been one country where the people have been most susceptible to false notions of misplaced nationalism. Sierra Leone suffere terribly under civil war, but the once the British can in, it took them three months and everything was back in order. It's high time that the people of Somalia realized that whipping up emotions about perceived enemies doesn't make sense. It is not a sign of weakness to seek outside help.

You think Eritreans let alone most somali are fooled by this little Game you playing in somalia???? when al shabab threatened to attack eritrea we told them you need to get permission first and they shut their mouth up, Meaning you need the CIA to approve your attack like they did in uganda, we weren't born yesterday, what is kenya trying to do is alike a movie we have seen 1000 times, kenya and ethiopia goes into somalia, stay there and fight al shabab, keep al shabab alive while holding the somali population hostage, if the somali start demanding The kenyans to get out, they would let al shabaab cause few bombings and kill few civilians so somali would ask the kenyan to stay, if al shabaab gets weak which they won't let them do then let them have few small victory to balance out, i can even tell you what the plan is in 20 years lol Just because people don't spell it out dopesn't mean they don't know, the al shabaab Group can be destroyed in one argument in islamic arguments but ofcourse The tfg the other coin would never allow a "shoora" Council be established to accompany Thier so called "sharia" Because Both would be told to f**k off by the majority of somali in no time. Sierra leone Civil war was Created by the british you need to stop looking when the problem start and look 10 years before, just like the somali problem you really need to look into the 80's to see the trend. somali are gettting divided because of their tribal division, its easy Divide and conquer, However they have alot of common similarity to unite, and when they do the first thing they would remember is how your country betrayed the nighbourly Trust and became a condom for the CIA.
