That's awesome. Amoud needs a modern expansion.

My folks respect reer Awdal for their academic acumen. If Awdal was next to Bari we would be the Singapore of East Africa.

The 6-day workshop ended yesterday.



hopefully we'll see more of these in future.

It was published in World Development ( first tier journal 2001) volume 29. I guess the data was gathered two years before because it takes awhile to publish.

2001 was the year the first batch graduated from Amoud and i was there on convocation day..i would love to see a more recent report bcoz too much have changed since then.

Camoud has a history that is difficult to beat. It was here that most somalis who ruled somalia in the 1960s attended.

Is it a private university? I looked at their programmes and they looked good.

its a non-governmental university built and financed by the community.

yeah even leaders of SL today most of them been there.

Historically, another important institution was SHEIKH high school.

Good job by the community. I think Samatar (who wrote the article), Bashir Goth and other Awdal intellectuals were products of Amoud.

yeah Sheikh was excellent education center, but sadly that town was neglected by SL for long time.

there should have been a prominent uni over there.
