Assad will pray with whoever, he doesn't care. The guy is Alawi they don't even fast during Ramadan. I dont care about his beliefs and sectarian propaganda is not good news for Syria. The Christians/Alawis are like 20 percent of the pop and they still support him because they think they will get slaughtered if he falls. I hope it doesnt turn into Iraq if he does fall.

Assad still has supporters for sure especially in the major cities Damascus and Aleppo. But everywhere else there is an uprising and he is being brutal, I dont know how you can deny that. The opposition may exaggerate to help their claims, but without a doubt that Assad has been merciless in crushing the uprising. Same thing happened in the 80s with his father when he crushed Hama to the ground. He also did it with the Palestinians in the 70s. They are ruthless without a doubt.
