When going to Kenya do they always ask for letter of invitation? Is Uganda and Ethiopia also the same? Can someone living in Eastleigh with no address or house number write an invitation letter to the Kenyan embassy?

Thank you.

Moonlight,

What is the nationality of the passport holder ? If its a Western passport, you can get your visa on arrival.

Depends on what you're using to travel. A British passport you get the visa at the airport for $50 or so, a Travel Document you need a Visa and a letter of invitation. I don't know about the address thing but I am sure they have to have an address waayo it's where you'll be staying. That said, there is a lot of info on the Kenyan embassy wesbite and if worse comes worst they answer all your questions if you give them a call.

I have British travel document so it's not a passport.

I have called Ethiopian embassy in London today and they said all you need is British travel document and one recent passport size photo they also said I will get my visa in 24 hours. If I go to Addis Ababa will it be easy for me from Addis Ababa to Nairobi instead of from London to Nairobi because they made it clear without and invitation letter they won't let me in to Kenya.

After staying in Europe for a while, especially in the UK, you get used to people being polite so it comes as a shock. Lakin Kenyans I think, never really had good customer service skills.

Have you checked the website to see what needs to accompany the invite letter? If it's not there, you might have to call them again lol

:? your English seems very good to me.

You can't write a letter without providing an address, otherwise it becomes a memo or the like. It can't be that hard to find an address to use. More intersting is the work/resident permit on the list.
COMPLETE 3 APPLICATION FORMS
AN APPLICATION FEE OF £5 (POSTAL ORDERS/CASH, NO PERSONAL CHEQUES
A LETTER OF INTRODUCTION FROM EMPLOYER OR COPIES OF THEIR RESIDENT OR WORK PERMITS
YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENT OR PASSPORT
3 PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOGRAPHS
BANK STATEMENT
LETTER FROM HOST IN KENYA
