as a young somali man in 2011 who can cleary testify to Allah how this evil cancer called " Qabil" made us the most failed nation in humanity I think its waste of time and pathetic by you to spend time on such medieval and backward thing like clan meetings ,you shuld rather spend time on meetings about how to destroy the tribal system and strength somali nationalism :som: :D

Actually it was alright, it was kinda like a larger scale family get together and by family I mean very far distance relations
It was more about progession and how we can help each other out rather than a kkk meeting :)

As long as those meetings is about helping ones hometown to develop, I think it's fantastic!

I have discussed this with other Somalis who want to help their home cities develop through clan meetings, why can't we Somalis living in Europe and it's actually a lot keep large funding meetings among us, every family could come with a certain amount of money then used those money to develop the major somali cities in the horn of Africa. It requires unity, trust, nationalism, and good leaders who can show us the direction towards pogress and endless prosperity Inshallah it wil happen.

yep, it was all about how we can contribute to the development of our regions back home and even assist each other in the diaspora with issues such as helping each other to contribute for weddings and funerals etc.

WONDERFUL! when will we reach the mentality to do this kind of things on a national level?

I don't know but Somalis just like everybody else follow actions and that means they need to see others do it first in order for them to comply and then by Allah's will they will realise their priorities that they needed to help each other.

very interesting and positive response to my question, all countries which today have achieved progress and prosperity have made it through national unity, although they had much greater differences in their populations than us
