If so, I've always known it as pancake and it basically is: same ingredients just thinner than american style pancakes, actually it's almost identical to french crepes

btw, that's sugar sprinkled onto it

interesting are you sure your not confusing the pic with the proper canjeero. The difference is that canjeero is only heated on one side whereas this is done on both sides

The difference between malawax and canjeero is:

Malawax does not have any baking powder or yeast..and it is basically what the french call crepes..

Canjeero has some sort of fermenting agent...Somalis call it "Dhanaanis" that is why it looks like a net..Indho ayey leedahay

abuukar, it's a regional thing laxoox is originally from yemeni arabic and canjeero is originally from amharic/oromo
