Where do you stand after listening to the debate?

I only watched the first 5 minutes (2 hours is too long). I support going after current/past gacankudhiiglayaasha. It doesn't matter if Samatar lacked executive or decision-making powers. Once in a club, you're a member. Having said that, there are individuals who committed far worse crime than Samatar. Individuals who are at large openly. Like Morgan. They might come to the US, UK or other EU countries, but it would be difficult to go after them, 'cause the governments of those countries view them "useful" (part of the TFG or regional armed militias, fighting Islamists, etc), and as a result wouldn't allow their prosecution. Ali Mahdi also deserves prosecution, for what he did to the masses, and for allowing toxic waste dumping. His crimes do not relate to Waqooyi; this is to let you know there are many whose crimes relate to other parts of Somalia. But, Ali Mahdi, like Morgan, is "useful" to Western governments. The outcome of Samatar's prosecution isn't assured to be fair; influential US figures could intervene in order not to indict/convict him. Not to mention the hard fought of those who are after him and the lengthy process.

Riyalle worked in the intelligence agency and Siilanyo was a Minister.
Both of them later became leaders of the region which makes the most fuss about the previous regime.
It seems like there is an agenda connected with putting Samatar on trial that doesn't have anything to do with justice at all.
