Religious extremists, racist rants, and less than desirable political ideas. I can't believe I used to like this forum or find it interesting. Looks like a cess pool of half-intelligent regressive third-world mentality to be honest. Reading the confused rants of some of the religious extremists and then going to a section and reading the emotions garnered from village skirmishes between couple nomads somewhere in bush country, it makes me feel sad for the people who participate in such discussions.

SomaliNet is a microcosm of the Somali community as a whole. . I mean, were you really expecting the sons and daughters of an ignorant and superstitious society to make a virtual community any different than their real life one? You are too idealistic my friend.

I dont think Snetter are the worst of Somalis. Some of the posts to which you refer are either trolling, venting frustration or exxagerating their opinions. I commend Somalinetters for their honesty, regardless of what their views may be they will say it as it is. Imo that is far healthier some forums, i.e. SOL, where supressed feelings and opinons leave the forum with a bunch of sour and passiev agreassive posters. Freedom to express opinions means that issues will be worked through.
