what is your relationship like with your dad?

ive noticed in most somali families, the mother is a matriach in the realest sense, everyone reports to her for emotional comfort. but do you guys have a sense of closeness with your father? i understand girls can get along with their fathers a lot better than boys, but is there an exception with you? do you guys think somali fathers are not very emotionally attached with their sons?

It's a rollercoaster with the pops, some days we're real cool buddies, I mean ever sense of it, and some days he presents himself as a parent, gets me confused at times

Rabshoole, interesting. Is he different with your siblings?

For me, being a middle child, I think I get the least attention from my pops. But generally he chooses not to be on the soft side when he deals with me and my brothers. I think he wants to teach us to be strong for our families and not just some big old softie. I can't even recall him ever crying

Abaakar, I'm also the middle child of the family, The pops treat's everyone accordingly, but he favors his only daughter of the family a bit more. The younger boys waa iska caadi, they too business balancing out school and work besides iyaguna waa mom boys

my dad has been through a lot in his life and through out his trials and tribulations he turned out to be the best father I could have ever wish for alxamdulilah. When I went on vacation for two months in somaliland I even missed the times that he used to scold me.
Lets take advantage of the time we have with our parents.

I have normal relationship with my dad.
However I feel emotionally attached to moms.
