Marriage back home
Question to the brothers and sisters of this forum
Brothers are there any of you who would consider getting married to a girl in somalia or would you rather marry someone who grew up in the west? same applies to the sisters too. What do you think of the idea of raising your kids back home.
Would it work? can it work? do you know anyone who has a wife/husband back home, they do say as long as the two people involved are happy it doesn't matter.

Re: Marriage back home
Well if you marry someone from back home you can still bring them abroad. In that case it works the same as marrying any one of the new arrivals.
Raising kids in Africa is a great idea.

I'm not up for it. I don't think it will work, unless you choose to stay there. Even then, difficulties specific to the differences in upbringing may arise. I don't know anyone who's been raised here and chose someone to marry who's been raised there.
Kids is a whole 'nother issue.

Aemon,
What did they say about their marriage beforehand? Or were they unaware about it before leaving?

Re: Marriage back home
why not? people married people they dont share language or nationality! my granpa married punjabi lady and mind you that was some 60+ years ago, brought her to harar /gableed and had around 8 kids. my uncle married egyptian, dad married yemenian. they all happily married and have kids.
if we could marry other nationalities why not somali person?
