Lets say your brother or cousin got killed by someone back home and u lived there, would u leave it to the authorities to carry out the justice or would u personally deal with the matter and make sure that justice is served cold.?? and if u decide to carry it out would u just do a random person or someone who is in the same level as your brother/cousin.??

why kill someone else that was innocent?
if you want to take justice into your hands then at least do the investigation and locate the culprit then you look for a good sniper to take him down.

Alternatively ask for blood money.

No . It depends on the tribal geographical belonging of the person who answers .
For me, we live among our clan so there are arrangements .

sahan so what you're saying is if the culprit was of the same sub/sub/clan you would leave it to the authorities and mediation, laakiin if it was a shisheeye tribe u would turn into a dadqalato JB style   Anigu personally i would do it walahi, specially if it was my brother i would wana make sure they feel the same pain that im feeling.

Somalis need to get out of this tribal tit-for-tat, waxaa dunidii waxey ka baxdey stone-agekii. I mean we are in the 21st century and instead of talking about sending people to the mars we are discussing blood-money and tribal vendettas.

Never, why a random person?
Why not the person who did the killing?

I thought somalis back home still do the whole, 'Its Bloody Money or revenge killing' when someone is murdered? None of that, lets go to the authorities...

from what i know, when someone kills someone back home they leave the city or escape to another place, its unlikely the authorities back home have the power or can do anything to capture them, to some people few Thousand dollars and few Camels/cows as blood money doesnt mean shit. either bring the person or face the consequences is usually how most somalis think, which is why there are revenge killing till today from 1910 or even as far back as 1854 to now

I agree with you everything except blood money. Blood money means perpetrator is wanking along with his left hand while you are grieving over the loss of loved one

Allah waa senior columbo, me and this guy were tight back in the day. I used to watch him every weekend. If this guy is on the case then I know the bastard is guilty.

I believe in a trial before conviction and punishment. You need order, otherwise everyone can take revenge and it would be chaos like in Somalia.

blood money is Islamic principle if the family of the victim decide not to kill the culprit.

Or else more people will die cos of the death of one person.

I hate it whether it's Islamic Principle or not!
