While I'd love to fight and die advancing the cause of freedom and justice, as that's the only cause worth dying for, sadly I think I'll have to apply for an education or medical waiver aswell.

america in 2000-
rich, powerful , wealthy, the only superpower, growing economy and loved.
america 2012-
2 trillion in debt, failure in afganistan, failure in iraq had to buy off the insurgents with billions of dollars, just got out of recession and looks like it will get into a new one, hated by everyone and begging the arabs and chinise for loans

on top of that the Taliban are stronger than ever and will probably crush Karzai's army within a week once NATO pulls out.

lol, i don't think we'll need a draft unless we go to war against the great satan....i.e communist china, which I hope we will cause we can't be paying them back all those trillions of dollars. Iran will probably be attacked by another coalition of the willing.

The U.S still is rich and powerful and recessions are normal in free market economies.

Alpha as soon as you graduate high school or turn 18 you have to register for the draft, but there is no more draft as it has been lifted.

You get a letter in the mail saying you have to come join the military and fight. You cannot refuse unless you receive a special waiver from some war commission. They tried to imprison Muhammad Ali for refusing to serve in Vietnam I believe, but he got off by saying he was a conscientious objector.
