Nothing new. Somaliland will never be recognized without being recognized by Mogadishu.

Any effort to restore a long lasting peace and stability in the Somali Republic should be supported. The people of Somalia have suffered enough and this opportunity should not be wasted. Somalia's location and its untapped natural resources are important to the world at this current stage. We, Somalis, are not alone in the Somali conflict, and we should understand that fact. We should embrace "give and take" approach. While we should have our doubts about any foreign-led initiative, we should also understand that we are too weak and too divided to deal with it. So, we should take advantage of this opportunity and use it to our own advantage. 8-)

This is all bullshit, Somaliland has not been the cause of trouble in Somalia, they brought this in themselves with their non-stop rag-tag militia violence, and it is the west that supports it, William Hauge is saying this ahead of the near future invasion of Somalia by the british troops.

Who has said something about Somaliland in the comment you qouted?

Truth needs to be told, and that is Somaliland is essentially part of every problem in Somalia as all the top leaders of Al-Shabaab are Isaaq; the funding, travel, and many plans of Al-Shabaab are hatched in Somaliland. Not to mention Somaliland is desperately trying to divide the territory of Somalia and it is trying to invade the territories of other clans who don't sign up to their secessionist dreams. So, from every angle you look at it, Somaliland is destroying Southern Somalia and PL through its Al-Shabaab's Amniyaat-wing led by its Ahmed Abdi Gone and Ibrahim Al-Afghani Isaaq leaders. it is also waging in vicious clan-based civil war in Sool, Sanaag, Cayn, and Awdal regions of Somalia in order to make people accept its secessionist dreams.

Oh oh, we reached time the you Somalilanders used to play the Somali nationalist card when in fact all you are trying to say is you don't want any initiative to restore Somali statehood. Of course, the British is pursuing their national interest, but the fact is your point is you don't to see any sign of stability and governance in other parts of Somalia
