I feel really bad for Siilaanyo.

Post by Voltage »

I actually feel real bad for Siilaanyo. I mean it is not like he could refuse this conference made by Somaliland's main donor funders and with the participation of all those dignatories (it is not like it was Emgathi or Carta conference or something) but they told him to his face "you will have an opportunity to tell your story".

He didn't even get to talk to the world. Just hushed up and made to grace the conferences as "about Somalia" with the participation of all of "Somalia's regions not under terrorist control" as Cameron put it.

They probably said let's not let him ruin the spirit of the conference about SOMALIA with silly talks about more division, sectarianism, and especially secession.

Add that to the fact UN Secretary-general, the African presidents, Cameron and Clinton all stressed the unity and territorial integrity of Somalia in their speeches and press statements.

Everyone projected the key points that serve their selfish interests.

Of that entire conference the only thing you wish to discuss is about Siilaanyo :?:

Should one recognise the simple fact that he is the first to attend a somali conference since 1991 and appreciate the risk he has taken that could end his political career!

There is no intention to create lasting peace, post shabab Amisom will be engaged in targeting the so called "spoilers" as we regress back into warlord era.

I feel sorry for you and other ajans who have somalilandphobia

Let me teach you, like others here:

The conference was in three sessions:

Opening: for world leaders ( media was here)
Real Discussions:(here somaliland talk and taught the ajans how to be civilized) (closed session- no media)
Finishing: With camaron and UN and others (media was here)

Again, you people know nothing about how things run in the conference and in your failed state

From Clinton to Cameron, everyone major leader in attendance praised the Garowe 2 Conference - it is clear who the great masters have chosen to lead the Somali race. 8-)

Monk, diplomats just like protocols. In diplomatic circles you will see so much dedication to mentioning the "Roadmap", the "Djibouti Process", "Kampala Accord", and now "Garowe I and II"...and you barely see any actual development on the ground. It is just a way to say something is happening even if it is or not. You need to understand diplomatic parlance.

Try again voltage the world does not run according to your darood fantasies.
We have told you weeks before that this conference is about Somalia and its issues not Somaliland.
Somaliland was invited to speak about its experiences in nation building and peaceful reconciliation and about its work against piracy and terrorism.
This is exactly what Siilanyo talked about and he used his nearly 40 min speech to bring up the issue of Somaliland and its quest for recognition to the conference.

All this was in the itenary of the conference and it was known in advance by everyone who was interested.

Now where on earth did you deduce all you said from?

The ENTIRE Conference was known to be about Somalia not Somaliland nor recognition, and YET they're to eager focus on President Siilaanyo and what he does and says  8-)
