My letter to Barack Obama

Post by union »

I am sending this letter to the leader of the free world, our black African comrade Mr. Obama, so that he may act to stop Somaliland and give justice to its victims.
The Honorable Barack H. Obama
President of the United States
The White House
Washington, D.C 20500

Dear President Obama:

I write to express grave concern over the support given by the United States Federal Government to Somalia's breakaway region, the self declared state of "Somaliland". The regime of Somaliland has refused to participate in the peace and reconciliation efforts taking place in Somalia, and has instead opted to wage a tribal land grab war which has killed, maimed, and brutalized tens of thousands of innocent men, women, and children of the Dhulabante and Gedobursi tribes. The situation in northern Somalia is a humanitarian catastrophe, and the problem is being exacerbated by U.S aid to the regime of Somaliland, which is misappropriating development funds into its military. It is a profound outrage and tragedy that American tax dollars are being used in the commission of mass murder and innumerable human rights violations, and I call upon you, Mr. President, to immediately suspend U.S. taxpayer assistance to the regime of Somaliland until it renounces violence and agrees to come to the table of peace. I also call upon you to open a full investigation into the possibility of war crimes, among them being torture, extrajudicial killings, ethnic cleaning, rape, pillage, and land left, committed by the military of Somaliland with the authorization of the leadership of Somaliland.

Somaliland was established by the rebel group "Somali National Movement (SNM)" after the collapse of the government of Mohamed Siyad Barre in 1991. The objective of the SNM was solely to further the political and economic interests of the Issaq tribe, which is the dominate tribe in north Somalia, and Somaliland has continued to do just that, but at the expense of the neighboring minority tribes. The Gdobursi and Dhulbante tribes have made it clear that they do not wish to be a part of Somaliland, that they wish to remain united with the rest of Somalia, but Somaliland has refused to listen to their wishes and continues to claim their settlements as being a part of Somaliland. The United States Government has made it clear that it does not support the disintegration and fragmentation of Somalia, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made that clear most recently in the London Somalia Conference, but the leadership of Somaliland continues to insist on being recognized as an independent country, and has shown a willingness to use unregulated violence against anyone who opposes their secessionist aims.

Recently the President of Somaliland, Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Siilanyo, A British passport holder, ordered a militia under his command to attack and ransack the city of Buuhodle on February 8th, 2012. His militia shelled the city indiscriminately from a distance of 20 miles, killing scores of innocent people, among them being the elderly and children, and then raped and pillaged the occupants of farmhouses on the outskirts of the city. Hundreds of people were evacuated to hospitals in Bossaso, Somalia and Nairobi, Kenya. The Transitional Federal Government of Somalia has condemned the atrocities committed by Somaliland in Buudhole, but it is unable to do anything to protect its citizen as it is beleaguered by Al Qaeda militants in Mogadishu. Incidents like the one in Buuholde are not rare.

These injustices and crimes against humanity must not be tolerated, and the regime of Somaliland must not be immune to the consequences of its actions. I call upon you, Mr. President, to use every power at your disposal to stop Warlord Siilanyo and his fascist regime from continuing to wreak suffering and pain on the people of north Somalia. As Dr. Martin Luther King said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

Respectfully,

Union

How he blatantly lied about 'killings' of thousands of gedobursis and rape is indicating his failures already, US already know whats going on in Somaliland, and that it is a peace example to the south who know nothing but to shoot bullets instead of pickin up books.
