Anti-Piracy Delegation Reaches Jariban

A delegation led by the Minister of Ports and Marine Transportation of Puntland, Eng. Said Mohamed Rageh has reached the town of Jariban in eastern Mudug region. The delegation includes the deputy minister of interior Ali Hoosh Yusuf, the director of Puntland’s anti-piracy program Abdirisaq Mohamed Dirir, and the governor of Mudug, Mohamed Yusuf Jama.

The delegation will head towards the coastal town of Gara’ad to meet with NATO officials who are expected to arrive later today. Gara’ad, which has served as a major hub for pirates in recent years, has become the scene of the latest anti-piracy campaign by local forces.
