I tried to be 100% practicing Muslim the past few days-even got up for the morning prayer, but it's too hard and inconvenient so I'm going back to being a cafeteria Muslim. It's too troublesome to pray during business hours and to avoid shaking hands with women and there are just too many rules governing my every waking hour that I feel I'm losing all my personal independence. I was originally going to try to be "practicing" for a full week, but Jesus Christ it's much harder than I could have possibly imagined. I much prefer showing up to the mosque on eid alone and living the chill life of a moderate Western Muslim.

i dont get why people on slife are so chill when it comes to joking about their diin. im far from a perfect muslim but it could be that one word brings you down 7 levels of hell fire, or brings u up 7 levels of janna. it would make you feel real stupid if that word were in jest on an internet forum.
