Somaliland House Of Elders Criticise President Siilaanyo

Post by PRinCeS_LicK »

Hargeisa- The Somaliland House of Elders severely criticised the policy of President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud "Siilaanyo" domestic policies, in particular with regard the Eastern regions of Somaliland. At a heavily charged session yesterday, the House of Elders debated the president's policy towards the Dhulbahante community in which attempts at peace accords have not bared any fruit and have led to open confrontation between the Somaliland Defence Forces and militias opposed to the government.

The House of Elders members who participated in yesterday's debate criticised the Siilaanyo administration for being unable to bring peace to the Buhodle and Las Anod areas in which the Dhulbahante community reside.

The House of Elders members called for the administration to formulate a clear policy for bringing peace to the area. As well as, putting in place a more comprehensive plan for addressing the needs and concerns of Somaliland's minority communities.

In related news, sources confirm to Qarannews.com that there is a serious conflict between ministers in the Siilaanyo administration with regard to the government policies in the eastern regions of Somaliland. The minister of Information Ahmed Abdi Habsade has called for any government measures to bring about peace in region must begin with the initiative from the Somaliland government. Whilst the Somaliland minister of Home Affairs, Mohamed Nur Arraled "Dur" has called for a more hard line approach in which the Dhulbahante community of the region initiate any peace process prior to discussions with the government.
