I agree with them coming to Jubooyinka and especially Bay/Bakool. The D&M tribe being that they were in dire straits before Shabab came joined them to the last man and are the ones who are fighting to the last man as Shabab has really done well for the. Every since Ethiopans went into Bay/Bakool the amount of attacks towards Luuq from the Bakool side of the border has lessened dramatically. They really didn't have any sort of real anti Shabab resistance because most of them were Shabab to beging with.
As for Jubooyinka every since a lot of the Marexaan soldiers were recalled to Gedo to partake in the Baardheere offensive the advance has been slow there. The Madoobe Ras Kamboni outfit, while they are a feisty little bunch they are very, very small and it has become clear that the two Jubbas + Gedo is too much of a burden to put on the Gedo forces. Being that these two regions are densely populated and very diverse, there is no reason for Marexaan to play hero and try to capture them by themselves. Let these AMISOM go down there if they wish. As for the Kenyans while I don't particularly like them, hey at least its better the devil You know. Being that we share the mandeera/b xaawo crossing we know each other well and my bro when He visited B Xaawo mentioned that the Kenyans on the other side are pretty cool and many are somali anyway.
D Runner,
Since When did I not ever mention that I love Col Barre Aden Shire "Hiiraale"? About deciding our own fate, being that the Capitol of Somalia today is being ruled by AMISOM, coupled with all sorts of foreign troops on a national scale we certainly don't. On a local Jubbaland scale though, our interests will be there and fulfilled either politically or through the militiary liberation.

primarily the Marehan, and the most powerful armed groups in the region, in particular the Ras Kamboni militia, former Islamist combatants who have been "turned round" to fight al-Shabaab"

Somalia's the world's biggest dependent on foreign aid state so tell me who 'decides their own fate'?
