No, these are not Reer Gosha. Boondheere was just another neighborhood in Xamar, predominantly settled by Jareer, Reer Xamar, Carab Soomaali, and others. These musicians are Reer Shabelle. Probably Shiidle or just Jareer. They don't consider themselves Bantu. It's mostly Reer Gosha in Jubba who use that title. Shiidle don't speak Maay either, they've their own tongue or speak regular af maxaa tiri.

Avvicena,
Saaxib ma xasuusataa this Cawar guy who was the leader of the Boondheere folklore troop? Hawlwadaag ma aaysan lahayn koox fiican. I used to go to Boondheere to see them perform. One think has stuck with me; the Cawar guy was the vocalist and the band consisted of a few female dancers. He will recite something (praise your style, your clan, your name etc) and before you know it you have these ladies dancing towards you; here is the trick; you either join and dance or you pay a few shillings

Lama, I remember the Boondheere group, we used to travel to Boondheere just to see them perform at the old market.
Reer Shibis had all these awesome troops, I remember Boondheere, Bilaajo Carab, Beexaani, Martiini, etc always had colorful neighbors & rich culture.
Never understood the people who try to demonize & vilify Reer Shabelle culture, while putting forward their own tainted ideologies.

Without Banaadiri and shabeele culture there is no somali culture.

You never know, sxb. We probably played banooni together at the bacaad in front of Howlwadaag orientation.
I remember hearing of a woman people used to come from wide & far for booramaha, but I believe she was towards Baar Ubax. Not sure if its the same woman.
Ma xasuusataa dukaankii Cumar Suudi that was near orientationka, dhinaca Miijiska markaa u socotid? That store was always packed crazy. I used to buy daawo jilciso aka straight for my sisters and always used to take a small cut for myself.

Nacam, dukaanka Suudi. I later learned that the Suudis were related to sayid khalifa (the singer). It was the meeting point. Foodleeyda markii saliid loo diro ayaan faduulin jirey. Saaxibow dhinaca Cali Caliyow waxaa deganaa dhallinyaro aan saaxibo ahayn; reer Maxamed siyaad and infront of Cali Caliyow's house, waxaa deganaa reer Cilmi.
Makhaayadaha malaayga gado ma horfadhiisan jirtey?

Avvicena and DafiyoMiriq (and the rest of the rug cadeyaal).
I couldn't resist but post this song (Hibo Nuura) on Muqdisho. When I have the blues and go on memory lane, I play it.
Ma ogtihiin Magalaada Muqdisho oo aan manta joogno
Sida maanta aay tahay
Markaan aan mililico
Murugaa i qabatoow
Muusoodaye
Maxaad la yaabte?
Jidka Hodan ka muuqde
Halkaa loogu magac dareey
Milatariga dhex mara
..
all the roads leading to Xamar.

That store had everything, man. I remember looking up at all the shelves packed with merchandise and thinking to myself "Damn, this dude is doing serious business!"
Ma xasuusti reer Cilmi. Adiga, ma xasuusataa reer Jaqaf? Towards garaashka Xuseen Maalin? Dhinaca Hotel Weheliye? Jid cadaha Siigaale ku geeynaayey. Waxaan xasuustaa makhaayado badan oo ku safnaay degaandega Sayidka, iyo foorno cusbeed oo rootiga saf loogu gali jiray galab kasto. Waxeey caan ku ahaayeen rootiga bana olio. Dhinacaas dhan weey camirneed, ma waxeey gadi jireen malaay la dubay? I vaguely remember them, sxb. We used to always be out & about exploring things, we used to see all kinds of crazy shit. Xamar waad xasuusataa adigaba, qof guri dhex fadhin jiray ma jirin. Banaanka aan wada joogi jirnay.
Thanks for the song. Hibo Nuura was one of my all-time favorite singers. True patriot.
