Wonderfully made movie. Took me by surprise. I really was not expecting it to be as good as it was. Cinematography did much of the work, but it was all around a solid 8. I personally give it an 8.5/10.

I think this movie will be pitted up against DKR and Avengers. :|

I don't about DKR but the Avengers seems like its an epic fail in the making judging just by the trailers, sad really.

Hunger Games is going be to epic cause the books are epic. Catching Fire would be awesome and I already can't wait for that. I will catch it sometime this wkend but like most of the books fans I probably won't enjoy it as much, and on top of it all I can't stand Jennifer Lawrence. I hated her on Winters Bone, hated her as Mystique and almost shed a tear when I found out she was playing Katniss.

Alpha have you ever seen a Japanese cult classic called Battle Royal, and has Hunger Games remind you of that?

I haven't seen it, but no, I don't think it resembles Battle Royal much at all. For some reason the comparison seems to come up quite often, which I don't understand. I guess because it's teens killing each other instead of adults, people find it easy to scream plagiarism. I think there are a long list of movies that can be called up before Battle Royal; The Running Man is the most appropriate comparison, imo.

Yeah its the teen element that draws the comparison and you're right Running Man would be more like it. I'd add Stone Cold Steve Austins' The Condemned to the list as well.

I heard about this movie on the radio yesterday when going to Jum'ah prayer & they were saying it's the next Harry Potter or something like that.

Is it just teen based or it has something to offer to diverse audience? I don't want get caught sitting in a cinema full of crazy teens.

I read both books or half of the second one, can't remember, but I have been thinking what a disgusting thing to turn into a movie, but if people say it is great I shall see it tonight. :D
