Democracy is just a bullshit smokesreen the gaalo invented to oppress poor countries. What matters is economic wealth and military power. I would rather live in an advanced and wealthy dictatorship than a poor, democratic and free country any day.

cantarabaqash

you have to be advanced and wealthy to live in a democratic and free country. it is when you let people think and act freely that you unleash their ingenuity and create markets for such skills.

That's what Massa Whiteman has you believing, lakiin every civilisation from Babylon to Rome to Mughal India to Ottoman Turkey doesn't agree. Thinking and acting freely have nothing to do with democracy, you could do those things just as easily in a dictatorship. Dictatorship doesn't always = tyrant.

 Consulting and sharing the decision-making process with everyone else is healthy, some even say that it is a requirement for the ruler to do this and point to 'shura' command mentioned in the qur'an and our traditional elders have always done this.Sure gaalos throw the term around and use it as a smoke-screen to wage imperialist wars in Muslim countries, but in itself I see it as useful in that it's more of a less conflict-inducing way of running a country, especially when it's a poor one with few resources.Justice/fairness is more important than wealth, you can be a country rich in resources but still have poverty and lack of accountability, the ones that lack fairness are just cursed. :|

As long as the level of wealth inequality isn't too outrageous, the masses will be content with a benevolent dictatorship.

The goal for any sensible dictator is to reach a state where the wealth gap is relatively small while the median income is relatively high, and avoid overly oppressing the average citizen.

Throw in a few sham elections and at worst, introduce a closed democracy, and you can effectively rule uncontested for generations.

democracy is not that different from a dictatorship, it only takes 51% to oppress the remaining 49% under a democracy, so much for freedom. Aslo being able to vote is a dangerous privilege that should be given to a mature and sensible people, as society develops common sense and moral responsibility I believe the ability to vote should be expanded gradually.

I much rather live under a Authoritarian Government which enjoys popular support without votes, than live under a democracy that falls on its face constantly leading to multiple breakdown of government and social insecurity.

one of the reason why I love the Kacaan government, it was not voted in but enjoyed popular support and transformed us into a semi-industrialized, Social/welfare state. 21 years of stability, progress and pride goes a long way. specially considering the fact that we were and still are a bunch of idiots incapable of functioning under a democracy, even a dictatorship couldn't hold the destructive nature of Somalis back.
