I read in one of the wikileaks embassy cables that meles zanawi proposed an alliance between Somaliland and puntland
What is your take on such an alliance?

stupid

any measure of somalis coming together should be welcomed, but sland and pland dont have good chemistery to get along

alliances come from shared interests.
We have zero interests with puntland.

How can you have a alliance with snakes unless your a snake yourself? they are not trustworthy people. The fact SNM only had a successful alliance with USC and to a lesser extent SPM of Cumar Jess rather than SSDF proofs so.

somali politics is too volatile to have a clear stand on such a subject. I Generally thing reer idoor are a peace loving bunch , so are we , we have a few differences, but unlike the south there isnt such a nasty history between the two of us. Although I dont support melez dictating what somali should and should not do, if reer idoor ever wanted to have an alliance I think from a economic, political, point of view it would be stupid for Pl to refuse. The thing is SL will never extend a hand to PL and PL will not do the same, somali have too much pride to seek each other out and work together, they see it as a weakness. Personally I think it a good idea , what the like lyhood that it will actually happen?....Lets just say there is a better chance of SL getting recognition than the two joining.

saciid why is a alliance with majerteen bad and a alliance with ogadeen spm not a bad thing.
I believe it’s in somaliland interest to have a good relations and even alliance with punt land weather state to state or clan to clan
I have noticed a pattern in isaaq mind and I find that very interesting
