Looks like there's as many restoration projects in the works as there are new projects, I think that's more important and would be enough to give the city a new feel.

They are just covering the bullet holes. Round 2 of the shootings will begin. Man, I wanna be there too this time, just to shoot at those fresh targets.

everyone and their mama knows that xamar is a city that needs intense restoration and renovation, its not like it got nuked off the map... there's a lot to work with already

Anyway, history speaks for itself, article from December 2006, reer Muqdisho (those that matter and not foreign fighters or warlords) supported the Ethiopian intervention.

Mogadishu crowds greet Somali PM
Somalia's interim Prime Minister Ali Mohamad Ghedi has entered the capital, Mogadishu, heading an armoured convoy.
His arrival came a day after his Ethiopian-backed forces drove Islamist fighters out of the city.
Reports said cheering crowds lined the streets to welcome Mr Ghedi, who has declared three-months of martial law.

These inspiring pictures regardless of where the money came from or who was responsible for bringing peace shouldve put atleast a smile on ur face, I welcome such developments anywhere in Somalia.
