Brother I think it's great, your idea that is. You should go and meet up with local government councils over there, present your plan to them and start planting some trees. Offcourse you would need volunteers too. There are plenty of compatriots eager to get their hands dirty and help and do anything to rebuild this country of ours and I'm one of them. Go forth o'brother and May Allah be on your side.

Date palm cultivation takes alot of work, to speed up the artificial pollination you need cranes to lift the workers to plant the male seeds into the female Date palm and it will start making fresh timir.

The Ottoman turks already planted some in the water-works in Berbera, the SL gov can just pick those one's off the ground and re-plant them in the cities in the mean time.

It seems you are really passionate about this. Why don't you start with rather easier trees to plant in the meantime, you can probably attain cranes through NGOS or even the SL local government may own some to help you. The point is, you have to initiate and you will have many locals supporting you. Again I think you have wonderful idea, build on it and don't be discouraged if you run into hurdles along the way.

PS: The new Local goverment of Berbera has done excellent job.

mashallah what a comprehensive plan..

But the question is how will we get the $937 million over those 5 years.

we are getting currently 20% of that can we expect a 5 X increase in aid?

I read this five year SL development plan couple of days ago and was not impressed at all. I mean it is not bad at all and it is much better than what previous administration had done in that regard. But there is no concrete and ambitious development strategy in that plan. I expected much more than this laakiin ma xuma so far, and I believe there is still a room for upgrading this plan.
