No what the self-hating Somalis are saying is that Somalis are not capable of good customer service and its really a sign of their internal self-hating issues and the negative things that they have been socialised to assiciate with Somalis and Somalinimo. They have been watching CCN & BBC saying Somali pirates and Somali terrorists and now they believe that Somali inherently, for reason other than being somali, are unable to provide good customer service. terribel mindset, its a disease.

The Phenomenon of the Self-Hating Somali

Unfortunately there are self-hating Somalis. But they are a minority. And I am not talking about constructive criticism nor am I talking about anyone in this forum in particular. Somalis have now experienced war in some parts of the Somali peninsula on-ff for 20 years now. In addition, as with any other group of people Somalis have some rude people and people who, to eb non-specific, do bad things in general. Apparently there are some Somalis who think that because of this they can say anything they want about Somali people.

These people have lived in foreign countries where they have been exposed to too much negative stereotyping about Somalis and bad news about Somalis where Somalis are called all names under the sun, that they have joined the hordes of non-Somalis who are ready, at any given point, to scald Somalis. These people will never give other Somalis the benefit of doubt. They never see the cup as half-full when it comes to Somalis or any Somali issues. It is a mentality issue. The mentality of the non-Somali people who they have taken as their guides, leaders and have copied their thinking paradigm is a hateful one. These people: If Somalis live in Somalia they note how underdeveloped Somalia is or are ready to point out how there is war in some parts. When Somalis are in the diaspora they say why don't you go back home. When Somalis are rich these people are jealous of the Somalis and try to belittle them. When Somalis are poor and ama ay cayr qaataan they show contempt for the Somalis. When Somalis talk about Somaliweyn they say Somalis are delusional or agressors. When Somalis are wadaad they are terrorists with these people. When they take their culture and religion they label them as immigrants. No matter what the Somalis do, according to these people Somalis can't do a thing right.

You will have Somalis who will do anything to be liked by the gaallo or non-Somalis. But we have to be willing to swim against the tide and not care what the world thinks. This is because or solutions, success, and failures, are in our own hands. The worst thing that can happen to you is for you to lose your own independent evaluation and self-reflection tools. When you judge yourself by the disingenuous standards of others, you are only setting yourself up to fail.
