You know someones name yet you forget it

I was explaining an assignment to classmate then he moved on to another question about the reports of the presentations we have presented the week before I told him to get it from the other classmates while handing him mine, and then i showed him how they would then i mentioned one report from david, and the next fromt his girl nelly, then as I was moving onto the guy who sits right besides me and always throws a conversation or two at me i completely blanked out. The sad part about it? He was watching the whole thing. My excuses -"SO YEAH THESE ARE ALL THE REPORTS JUST ASK FOR EVERYONE ELSES AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE FOR THE EXAM TOMORROW GOODLUCK "

Yes it's quite embarrassing. People should make an effort to remember someone's name. I think when someone tells a person oh I forgot your name tell it to me again, it's really disrespectful. I always always make an effort of remembering someone's name. ,

I don't think it is that embarrasing at all. I mean I am not particulary good at remembering people's name but if I forgot I would have just said "excuse me, I forgot your name. What was it again?" People say that to me all the time since they can't remember "Somalian names" marka why wouldn't I say the same?
