Slnd has one of the largest underground water reserves

Post by Siciid85 »

In Africa :-O especially the areas around Togdheer and Oodweyne regions of Somaliland. Mashallah this is a blessing from Allah the almighty, on top of being oil heavens they also pose one of the largest underground water reserves in Africa.

Scientists have stated that vast reservoirs of groundwater exist under the surface of much of Africa.

A detailed map of its location has been produced for the first time. Much of the water is under traditionally parched areas – indeed the volume is thought to be as much as an equivalent of 75m of water in thickness.

With sustainable use it seems that these reserves could offer an opportunity to both alleviate present needs, and increase food production, via irrigation, to provide for the continents growing population.

Might explain the 5 or 6 different bottled water companies in Togdheer.

And why we in hargeisa always complain of biyo la'aan even though
we get around 400-500 mls of rain per year.

^ Actually that is nugaal valley which drains into Eyl/Pland. Major seasonal rivers in JSL such as Togdheer seasonal river and Daad-Madheedh seasonal river drain in Somaliland territory especially Oodweyne and Togdheer.

The Daad-Madheedh seasonal river: This one goes through the heart of Oodweyne into the farming settlment of Xaaxi and elsewhere.

The Togdheer seasonal river: This one starts from the hills of north Oodweyne goes through Burco city and ends up in the plains of eastern Togdheer.

Yep! we blessed by Allah, Alxamdulilah.

You see how Allah's favors work. He gives some water in forms of rivers following on the surface of the soil and others, beneath it. Wallee Rabbigeen waa Cajiib!

togdheer seasonal river flows east my friend, for hundreds of km of khaatumo.
together with our sanaag water resources, the togdheer river will contribute to transforming khaatumo into a farming paradise insha`llah. :D
