That just shows you that it's not about your level of education. It's the experiences you have.

^ people do not understand what is going on here. They blame the graduates for picking "useless" degrees instead of looking at how corrupt the system is.

Last year, one in six people—almost 50 million Americans, or 15 percent of the population—received food stamps.
It was one in seven, but now is one in six and growing. It appears things aren't improving.

Lol I've heard of people who have Ph.ds in Britney spears studies (I kid you not). Then they have the gall to complain about being unemployed.

The only things worth studying and going to university for are; either Engineering (Civil - EEE - Mechanical) or Health-care (Medicine - Dentistry - Biomed - Vet). Everything else is bullsh!t.

No. I said the only thing worth studying are those two separate disciplines. Even engineering is a bit iffy these days with the economy and all. All I'm saying is a person with a degree in medicine has like a 95% chance of employment, while a person with a BA Psychology...?

It's a combination of both.

In high school we are continuously battered with the notion that not getting a degree, any degree, will guarantee a life of struggle and poverty. This is the problem. Yes, post-secondary education is essential. Becoming a professional is important, even if it's something rather simplistic. However, understanding the purpose of university before actually going is just as important. The majority of university programs are designed to be introductory studies into respective fields of education. If one wants to do research, they should get a degree. If someone wants to get a job after getting a 3 or 4 year BA, they're wasting their time. Unless they plan on teaching English overseas for 35K, I don't really see the point. Certainly not now with all the folks who are getting laid off after 15+ years of experience, who also have BAs.

If a job is a goal, an applied science should be a focus.

University is a scam.

Economics is a broken field. You need to know your own political views before jumping into econ.

Teachers should all have focused degrees, rather than generic liberal arts. I'm sure plenty of us have had annoyingly stupid teachers. I know I have.

That was rather good of him. It seems Keynes is taking the heat now, which is well deserved.
