In Mogadishu, light skin people (both genders are almost worshiped)

I was having a dinner with tfg officials when a light-skin kid in his early teens passed by. One of the guys at the table said this boy is hebel's son. Then another one said hebel is short and dark but this boy looks like prophet hebel (i dnt recall the but the most handsome prophet). Look how he glows. Loool @ Sedexleey... In the west caramel or dark skinned people are considered good looking. Light skinned people love dark, white people love anyone with dark skin. Nowadays it's black that's in. Tell people back home that light doesn't automatically equate to beautiful. I'm super black, I wonder what they'd call me!

lool @ sedexlyeey. That's fucked up. Majority of the somalis i have met equate beauty with skin color. that xplains y a lot of chicks be smearin' that white powder on their faces.

wat u on about? That powder practice has become an epidemic and it's widely practiced by somali chicks throughout the world. hata kuwa midkaba maariinka ah way marsdaan? I can't even speak on the number of girls I know that on that shyt. Their faces become white as in the color white. literally! smh

In Djibouti they have (or at least used to) this story about a man who's wife would not give birth to any boy.

^ I'm familiar with the saying nin cas wa nacas. Apparently light skin mandem get more attention from women and thus don't really try to achieve much in life, seeing as how they're getting the goods regardless. Whereas mandem that are dark need to rely on their wits to bag chicks.
