This is one of my favourite song. It was sung by Malfadow (AUN) who is a somali and whose family I know.

Ps; Shidow, do you know where I can find his other songs?

Bareento, thanks.
Many think Malfadow is a borana but that is far from the truth. He was born in the NFD but his father came from Somalia. His greatfather was born in IIMEY (Western Somalia) which happens to be the birth place of the great Warrior, Nationalist, Poet, Sayid Mohamed Abdille Hassan.

He gave Borana music a boost.

Some of the stories about him are urban legends.

Lama, I know Malfadhow was not Oromo, I think he was Ajuran...I am not sure whether he was Ajuran or his Lover Faatuma was Ajuran.
Lama, are u saying all the love story between him and Faatuma is urban legend :?

He was not Ajuraan. He never cared about which tribe he belonged to. He is part of a great somali jameeca in Bardheere which was established in the 19th century.

He was a composer and singer; so I guess alot of his songs were influenced by events in his life. Alot of urban legends are marketing ploys.

BTW, listen to this song and notice the similarity with somali songs. I think this was one of his first songs; it was taped in Garba Tula
