No, not really what I'm advocating for.

Pride in a nation needs a basis aside from simply being an expectation. What reason does one have to be proud in their nation? Why is questioning the validity of patriotism shunned? If one disagrees with the domestic and foreign policies of the country they were born and raised in, shouldn't they show disdain rather than blind devotion?

Do you not have a patriotic bone in your body? Do you not tear up when you see the trillium on your OHIP card? Do you not salute the flag of the republic that is waving proudly in front of your local McDonalds restaurant? Does your face not glow up when you see our dear leader on television answering questions from journalists?
