Ogaden-HY is over exaggerated, i have yet to see a HY member in snet with Cagdheer reer abti and vice versa minus Xamari (it is not that many in real life either). I don't know about the entire Isaaq. However from my observation within HY over the years, i have came to the conclusion that the most groups we intermarry with are in the following order.

1.Within HY
2.HY-Cidagales
3.Other Isaaqs
4.Dooros
5.Hawiyes

If we look deeper into this, what's the ranking? Originally Intermarriages between HY hawd and HJ hawd (border Riyo-Xidho - Sibidhley up all the way to Burco) used to occur occasionally but not a lot. I think mainly between Reer Daahir and Xirsi Cismaan (Reer Caynaashe?). on the other side in Bari I bumped in enough folks who are big beards with Muse Abokor reer abti's or vice versa. I find it odd as I think the HJ and HY borders are quite larger in hawdka than in Sanaag.

I have an Isaaq friend who said HY were the best looking Isaaqs. It makes sense now, all the mixing they've done with Ogadens over the years must have passed our Absame good looks onto them.

In all seriousness though, I think Ogaden/Isaaq intermarriages are a highly over exaggerated. They may have occurred before the civil war but they certainly aren't happening now.

Ogadens marry other Daroods clans the most. From what I've seen OG's marry other Absame clans the most (obviously). And from what I've noticed in the recent Ogaden weddings I've attended lately we also marry Geri Kombe a lot as well. I didn't notice it at first but I've seen a lot of Geri and Ogaden families recently, which is cool since Geri Kombe's are a beautiful group of people.

Doesn't really matter though, we're all Somali and all Somali marriages regardless of clans are a good thing.

CaynabaX i have came across some Reer Caynaanshe and Reer Dahir mixtures in the states. I wouldn't say it is many though, Reer Caynaanshe usually intermarry with Cali Siciid alot since they border each other in the Cali Sahiid, Ceeg areas also Raydab and Xaaji Saalax. I have heard they use to have some sort of a alliance in the past . Within Somaliland Reer Caynaanshe and Reer Dahir don't share borders but in the Hawd; in Somaliland Reer Dahir have borders with Reer Cawl and Cabdi Hersi. As for the east to my knowledge it is varied, HY-Bari interrmarry with other HY-Bari, HJ, Warsans and Dh. When it comes to Togdheer/Saaxil the HY Togdheer and HJ Togdheer do not intermarry much, to my surprise i have came across more HY-Cisse Muse mixtures from those regions.

But i have noticed the gadhweyns dont like to intermarry with wasakgalis i have never ever seen a gadhweyn with wasakgahli reer abti. i have seen gadhweyn with dhulbahante naleye axmed reer abti but never ever gadhweyn with wasakhgali.
