The strangest thing ive seen in Nairobi; Some people that ..

Post by MenaceToSociety »

look like Somalis but yet cant speak Somali...They look like your typical Farax's...I mean they practically are Somalis..Walaahi..but they say they are something called BORANA...

Do we have anthropologist in this dam snet forum...?

I was at this esteemed hotel last night...Apparently there's a guy that stands front of the elevator, his official looking and he looks exceptionally somali...So I was looking for something and in my absent mindedness I said something in Somali and he said "I did not understand"..And I said "ohh u must be a sujui?" and he replied "No I am a borana"...He went on to tell me that his name is "Mohamed" and that his people are half Xtians and half Muslims.SMH...(afterwards he asked me money..which I told him I aint carrying my wallet when indeed I had a loaded wallet)

You'll see that. I thought one of the guards at my dad's place was Somali too. I remember talking to him for a good minute and he was just nodding staring at me. Dude didn't understand a lick of what I said and I found out after I finished. He kept saying "Gabbra" which I later found out is a Cushitic group in south Ethiopia/n Kenya.

Borana is Oromo. I actually saw a Borana friend of mine like 5 minutes ago.

Afars and Oromos mostly look like Somalis.

Sometimes you can even find Somali looking people in the Samburu, Maasai, Tutsi, and even Kikuyu tribe. They have Cushitic blood.

Who did I side with? Neither as I wasn't there. I hate wars and killings. It is just wasting life.
Having said that...You have to remember that I am Somali and Geri are not only Somali but one of my grandparents is Geri...
